Self-confidence is a very precious thing. One should keep it safely. If lost, you may wander here and there looking for that missing part of you. This is a lesson I am memorising regularly.
There was a time when I didn’t believe in myself and thus, I had no self-confidence. Somebody gave me a chance to prove myself. I was unsure yet this person had full faith in me. Their trust in me helped me realise that I was capable. It was a journey towards identifying my skills and interests.
Another person’s push of encouragement helped me dare to dream to again. I know it’s quite funny how others believed in me at a time when I didn’t believe in myself. I am glad that I’ve met some good people in life.
No matter how difficult life gets, no matter if a task takes longer time, I keep on trying. I have learned to keep my calm because I don’t lose my self-confidence again.
Read all parts of A to Z challenge 2020 here.
My mom taught me self esteem was conceit and my dad just keeps insulting me to this day cos it was how his parents treated him. Whatever self esteem I have acquired has been on my own. There are days I wish the positive things left a mark as deeply as the negative things, then my self confidence would not ebb and flow the way it does.
I am glad you found someone to give you a chance and it lead you to your confidence. It’s an important, wonderful thing. 🙂

Yes, getting a chance was so important for me.
I hope Spook helps you out someday on focusing more on the positive instead of the negative ❤

We just need a little positive push in the direction to help our confidence, and off we go. I am glad you have that confidence factor back, ready to capture and conquer the world.

The fact that I’m the best version of me, and that I’m the best me when I’m truly me. Makes me feel special and that alone boosts my confidence. I could relate to your story.
By the way, what are your five best assets you’ve acquired in life? (not tangible ones per se, but the intangible)

Damn! You’re so smart! I was asked the same question awhile back and I ended up talking about a smart watch I had owned back then 😂

For me, I’ll go with:
1. My family
2. My self-esteem
3. Skills that I’ve acquired in life
4. My adventurous nature
5. Education
6. Always high on positive attitudes and thoughts
7. And my thoughts and ability to put them on paper 😊

Good list but you had to list 5 only 😛
I struck off many from mine to scale down to 5 😀

Thank you Saumya for sharing your experience. Learning to love oneself is often hard. Good thing we meet faithful people who believe in and encourage us along the way. Have an inspiring month of May. Take care of yourself.
