Chaaron or baji shehnaayi
Kiske ghar ki laxmi hai ye
Devi mere ghar aayi
Meethi-meethi sugandh se uski
Mehek utha mera sara ghar
Bulbul jaise chulbul karti
Chahak utha mera sara ghar
Cham-cham karti dole gudiya
Hasti kabhi roti hai gudiya
Vaah vaah ke khel dikhati
Sabka mann moh leti gudiya
Hum sab is par vari jaaye
Vari jaaye balihari jaaye
Chiraneevi ho meri gudiya
pade likhe aur naam kamaye
Nazron me sada swabhiman
Sabka karna ukt samman
Apne achhe bhale kaamo se
Rakhna sabka uncha bhaal
Yehi hai mera aashirwaad
Ise samajhna mera uphaar
My grandmother wrote this poem for my second birthday. That was back in 1997. Found it recently while cleaning things. One of my aunts always tells me that I inherited my passion for writing from my grandmother.
Beautiful words, especially “Vari jaaye balihari jaaye” – fills one with joy! Absolute bliss.
