How has coronavirus affected my blogging? – Blogging Insights #23

This post was updated on May 4, 2020 to add posts I wrote about my lockdown experience.

How has the Coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic affected your blogging Are you posting more or less than you used to?

I have been posting more since the time my office asked us to start working from home. The last time I went to work was on March 13. I even did a 10-day letter writing challenge on Blogger Community just to help myself and others focus on something good. If you want divert your attention towards something positive, you can still write letters.

What is the tone of your posts these days, happy, sad , serious, worried?

My posts are more about me spreading hope and positivity. Since the A-Z challenge is going on, I am focusing on self-love and self-appreciation. I think it’s a good time to do posts like that because you never know how some of my words may help someone in some part of the world.

Have you written any posts specifically about the crisis and its effect on your life? If so, please share a link?

I have not written any specific post. I am just sharing photos in my photography series called ‘Moments‘ to capture how I spent my time social distancing.

The reason I have not written anything on COVID-19 specifically is this- I am a journalist. I report coronavirus-related news for 9 hours throughout the week. When I close work, my family is still wanting to watch or talk about the infection.

Even though I report more of human interest and heartwarming news, I just don’t want to talk about it all day. But maybe, I can do one happy post about it. Let’s see…

I wrote a post about how I spent my time in April 2020. Read it here.
A detailed account (in three parts) of the effect of the coronavirus and lockdown will be posted soon.

What kinds of posts do you like to read these days?

I am not choosing the posts I read. I am just exploring some of the new bloggers I have come across recently. Either they are giving me positive vibes or I am sending them mine. I am also going through posts of other bloggers I follow.

    1. Some kind of art is indeed an outlet for all of us.
Do you share your craft work on your blog? Would like to see it 🙂

      1. During time of lockdown, I have been making pom pom bunnies and a pom chick. They are both on my blog, with link to who inpired me to make them.
I also shared after that, a link to other blogs, sites where people could get further inspiration in making other different things pom pom related.

  1. I’ve been either binge posting or barely posting, it’s feast or famine because everyday on lockdown is just running together. My affect is flat or freaked, doesn’t seem to be an in between.

I am glad you do the feel good stuff. One of us has to and that is not my wheelhouse as my blog is literally about my depression, he he.

I think my very brief post wishing everyone a happy easter is positive so I’ve done something outside my comfort zone.

I was really churning out creativity during the letter writing challenge when the community was buzzing and people were interacting, I draw a lot of my energy and inspiration from that. Without it, my writing has just kind of gone…meh. Looking forward to what the community suggests to get things popping there again. 🙂

  2. I’ve been barely posting..been having to find positive things to do…..like making non-woven face masks for first responders and nurses we know and love…..or building a back porch deck out of pallets and plywood…….or canning veggies, making pickles and relish or baking bread since there is none in the stores.

      1. Instagram. Twitter. I don’t do much on these however will be posting a video on my Chucklesinghs Instagram account today to raise awareness about a local charity that is struggling to stay afloat at this time.
