I focus on growth… A to Z 2020

G for growth

For how long would you stay with us?
This is one of those interview questions I have never been able to find a perfect answer for.
“Till the time I get to learn new things here,” I replied.
That’s a very diplomatic answer.
“I was asked to write at least 250 words but I was struggling to write more after 150 words. Today, this exercise taught me how I need to play with my words. This may not seem very important but it was new for me.” I was honest.

Growth is an important thing. I haven’t maintained a journal to keep a check on my growth. But there are times when I look back in life and realise how far I have come.

I am challenging myself every day. I am exploring new things. I am associating myself more with the people who push me to grow.

Today, I will complete one year of being in the professional world. It was an year full of learnings. There’s a sense of happiness inside, a sense of satisfaction, a sense of peace.

Side note: Last year, on this day I was talking about my garden of gratitude. In the past one year, I did my best to express my gratitude to more and more people. There were at least three times when I especially took out time to tell people how much they mean to me. I am trying to do more and more of this. (Planning to restart Our Garden of Gratitude series in May.)

  1. I love the idea of a Garden of Gratitude. I have many people to whom I owe it. This post is really uplifting and has made me think of all the people that have helped me and go on helping me. Thanks!

    1. Yes, I need more positivity. Will start it once A-z is done.
Ikr! all these websites offering you tips, they are somewhat right. But I don’t really trust the ones giving answers. Answers should always ahve a personal touch and should be honest. If you fake it, the interviewer gets to know it.
When I was giving my interview for journalsim entrance, the interviewer tried to make me blv that I wasn’t meant for the course because I wasn’t able to answer a lot of things. At one point, I told them that I’m here to learn. The course will teach me the things that I don’t know. 🙂

  3. Growth of one-self is very important. Only when we accept and adapt to growth (be it personal or work) can we then help others grow.

Or others can help us grow because that is our legacy. If you are resistance to change then effectively you are stopping yourself in your tracks…no further room to manoeuvre.
Look forward to ‘Garden of Gratitude’ series!!
