Memory

Worried that she’s alone in the house, she tried to look for a door from where she could escape. As soon as she was about to reach the door, Varsha stopped her and asked, “Where are you going?”
“I want to go to my home.”
“This is your home.”
“No, my house is near the flag,” she recalled from her memory.
“This is your home, your son’s home. Your grandchildren live here.”
“This is Alok’s home?” she asked in surprise.
“Yes.”
“But where is his wife?”
“I am his wife.”
“You are Varsha?”
“Yes, mother.”
“Oh sorry, my child. I did not recognise you. Come here, child.” She caressed her.

She remembers names and places, but she forgot faces. She remembers that she has a daughter-in-law, yet she recalls her childhood house near the flag.
