Part I of this poem was written in early 2016. After three months, I found out that the story line could be extended and hence came Part II and III in mid 2016. However, I knew that there was more to it but was unaware of what it was until 2018. While working on a college assignment that gave me the freedom to be creative, I finally found the last and final part of this poem.

(I)
Who you see is not me.
I told you a thousand times.
“Who are you then?”
You always asked.
I changed the conversation
Each time, with a faint smile.
Today I have decided
To answer your question.
Hard it was, for me,
To turn back
To those pages
Of my journey
That I had been trying
To escape since long.
As I have allowed you
To look into my scarred face,
I believe, time has come
That you’ll understand
My answer to your question-
I was a budding flower.
Read Part II
Read Part III
Read Part IV
This piece has a nice flow to it.
And the closing lines are just great.

Thankyou! There’s more to the story line…Three more parts. Will be sharing in tomorrow and days after that 🙂

I was wondering about that, because I saw the one “I”, but then it sounded like a complete piece, so I wasn’t sure. I look forward to further parts, then.

When I wrote it for the first time, it sounded complete to me too. But then I realised there was more to it. I wrote the timeline of writing this piece just above the photo.
