The Pencil

Sitting at her desk in her cubicle
A pencil in her hand
Lost in deep thoughts
She let her pencil dance
Between her index and middle fingers
Unaware, she forcefully pushed the rubber
On the other end of the pencil
On her right temple bone

Asking what she has been doing here
Cursing herself for an unsatisfactory life
Wondering where she could have been
Had she not been living her life in denial
Searching for her identity
Unconsciously, she twisted the pencil
As she pressed the pencil again
Reality hit her hard with the lead tip

In response to Word of the Day- Satisfy and Identity
