I don’t understand the ways of the world. If the world says yes, I go for a no. If everyone goes right, I take a left.
This has bothered me for years. Not being in sync with everyone. Always being the odd one out.
I’ve tried to do things that other people do. I’ve tried to follow the trend to be accepted by people. From movies, music, gossip topics, to dressing up, talking like them and what not.
Each time I tried to imitate people there was a repulsive force telling me that I don’t like it. I don’t fit in this stuff. Yet I tried my best to do it. In the end, I only felt bad of trying to do what I wasn’t meant for.
Eventually as I grew up, I realised that that’s not me. I am not the odd one out. I am unique. I am a different person. I realised that it’s more important to be myself than to be accepted by others.
Being myself makes me happy. There is a sense of relief in doing what you actually want to do. Being myself makes me love myself more. I’m learning to be myself.

I Relate to this so much.. I also struggled with just being me as a teen for a long time but growth and maturity remedied that.

how can the force be repulsive when it’s telling you the most valuable advice ? 🙂

It did seem repulsive at that time but I realise now that it was the other way round.. 🙂

I relate to your posts quite a lot now! Have some questions for you, the ones which I keep hearing in my mind…do you also hear something similiar?
Am I a rebel? Why am I doing it? What good am I going to achieve by this? Where is the line ? What is the next stage? Am I listening to my soul? What is the reason for me doing all of this ? What am I afraid of?
Quite philosophical..yet true but.

I’m glad that you can relate.
I do ask myself similar questions, though not in the exact same words.
